Big girl bed

yesterday we put together Kate's new "big girl" bed and she slept in in for the first time last night. we had anticipated having her crawl out of bed several times but to our surprise.....she loves it!! we talked her up all evening about having a big girl bed we placed her on it before getting bedding on it and she had a huge grin to tell us she approved!! she woke up once which is normal due to teething issues but went back to sleep and slept in!! we are so proud of her making this transition so wonderfully!! we thought it was maybe beginners luck but again tonight she was happy to lay down in her "big girl" bed!! now we just have to go and get some pretty new bedding!!

first trip to the zoo

we had our first lincoln's children zoo visit yesterday....kate smiled with delight when we pointed out the animals of course her one animal noise she can make is "woof woof" so most of the animals sounded like a dog when we asked her what noise the animal said....she really enjoyed feeding the goats as you can see in some of the pictures.... enjoy.....

easter

Easter....the celebration of our risen LORD!! church, lilies, a pretty little yellow dress and of course some eggs from a basket.....now how does a yellow dress, an Easter basket and eggs fit in with the celebration of our risen LORD ?? i really don't know, but i guess we also celebrate along with Easter the thoughts of new birth with spring. we got home from church and i put a few eggs out in the hallway. we had filled 50 eggs the night before with cheerios....as soon as Kate spotted the first egg she was content with rattling it and a big smile spread across her face. Kevin tried to show her the rest of the eggs but she really had no big interest....enjoy the pictures......

fun new toys

we've been quite busy with some new warm weather toys...kevin has been excited about putting them together and kate has enjoyed them for the exception of the helmet.....enjoy the pictures.....

kate turned 1 !

my sweet baby girl turned one today... at exactly 9;31 this am i held my kate and hugged her kissed her on the head, danced to something on the radio down staires....she loves music...loves to dance and she had a sweet smile the whole time....the day was filled with playing, napping, running a few errands and a party!! we ventured to spaghetti works to meet karen, g-ma & g-pa javorsky, great uncle larry and great aunt betty, her god parents, abby and kevin, uncle john and nichole.....having pasta, bread, and banana-peach granola. we returned home for presents and cake.....i believe kate had an enjoyable birthday!

it's fun to scream....it's fun to hear your voice very very loud....kate has discovered how to do this...

treats after sledding

this last monday LPS was out... the snow was still on the ground...perfect day to sled!! the texel's (mitchel, matthew, ashley and their mom joan) called and planned to go sledding along with kevin at holmes lake. kate and i stayed home...kate napping and i in the kitchen making chocolate chip bars for the worn out and cold sledders!!
